 Range Officer Seminar 18 – 19 April 2015

RoTraining5

The Negril Tactical Shooting Range (NTSR) hosted a IPSC Level 1 Range Officer (RO) Seminar over the weekend of 18-19 April 2015, see attached report.

NTSR have been affiliated with the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) through the Jamaica Rifle Association (JRA) / IPSC Jamaica since April 2015, with Christine Green as their coordinator. Christine coordinated arrangements for the course, with the JRA providing necessary printed materials including handout booklets (Seminar handout, IROA Range Officer Manual and 2015 IPSC Handgun Competition Rules), student registration forms and exams.

A total of twenty two (22) candidates attended the seminar. They have already completed a Level 1 match activity, earning the first of 3 points required to confirm certification as IPSC Range Officers. Some of the participants came from the DREAMEK SHOOTING RANGE in Montego Bay, we hope to welcome this range into the IPSC Jamaica fold shortly.

Negril is therefore ready to hold IPSC matches in accordance with required standards. We have invited their members to attend our events at the JRA to participate both as competitors and Range Officials, and so gain even more experience.

I wish to thank Christine Green and her members for the warm hospitality during my visit, and the opportunity to have been of assistance – it was an honour.

Yours aye, DVC!
